University of Georgia Independent and Distance Learning (IDL) offers more than 100 undergraduate, academic credit courses through web and print formats and are taught by University of Georgia faculty. Students have up to nine months to complete IDL courses, with a minimum requirement of eight weeks enrollment. Tuition rates for non-UGA students are the same as in-state tuition, regardless of location or residency. IDL courses can be used toward a degree, broaden professional expertise, or to learn more about a subject of interest.

The course fee is $609 for both in-state and out-of-state students IDL provides support through Student Services, with Student Representatives available throughout the enrollment process by telephone or e-mail, and in person, to answer questions, to help solve problems and make the learning experience as smooth and productive as possible IDL students have access to University of Georgia's GALILEO (Georgia Library Learning Online) as well as to the main UGA Library Academic credit earned through IDL is recorded on an official transcript by the University of Georgia Office of the Registrar and may be used to fulfill degree requirements according to the regulations of the student's college or university
